Because you follow the Roman Catholic Calendar introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII as a replacement for the Julian calendar, unlike the Orthodox Church which still celebrates the Nativity of Christ according to the Julian Calendar which was in place when He was born.

It's more than that boyo.

Does the sun rise, set and then rise again the next morning? The seasons change cyclically? Are sub atomic particles created/destroyed/recreated from microsecond to microsecond?

Sounds like birth/death/resurrection to me, built into the very fabric of creation.
