Totally agree with your analysis. Do you think the resurrection actually happened or is it meant to be metaphorical?

I think it could be metaphorical. I don't think it happened personally, and I think it can (and does) take away from the core of Jesus's actual message—that a radically loving life will transform both you and the world, and our relationship to God.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights to help me understand and improve my critical thinking process. I have doubted some of the things that I have been taught for a long time and because of so many tragedies I have experienced in my life, I now have the time and desire to learn the truth. So many of us have gone through the same process - deconstruction - to get rid of all the negative, hurtful (and quite honestly garbage) theology that's been pumped into us at an early age.
