Part of the problem is mainstream media sold us out. I no longer think they give us the truth, partially because they have accepted that Trump will freeze them out if they do. They try to give a version of News that normalises what Trump is doing. One has to watch a lot of sources and to try and glean what the actual truth is. Even then, other sources try to terrify us with every move Trump makes. I don’t want to spend everyday being terrified.

Thanks for these super practical tips. I've definitely been sending myself crazy (and making myself really really ANGRY) helplessly watching everything's that's been going down, and I've been looking for ways to bring some more balance into how I engage with our current moment. Giving myself one day off a week from the news alone feels like peace to me right now:) But Tip Number Five is probably the most potentially transformative of all. The idea of embracing my ultimate powerlessness, rather than feeling frustrated/overwhelmed/enraged by it as I have been, truly is a liberating one. Thanks again for a hugely helpful article!
